Formby Civic Society Local History Library

Since the foundation of the Society in 1953 its Local History Group has been one of its most important activities. Each year the Society organises a balanced programme of monthly meetings on historical subjects from October to April and during the summer months several outings and visits to places of historical interest in NW England.

In addition the Society has built up a significant and valuable local history Library. Members may refer to its many books, documents and archives. Most of the publications are available to Members for home study or research for a limited period.

Non-member students or researchers may consult the records, archives and publications on application to the History Group Secretary, Mrs Barbara Yorke MBE.
