On Thursday 20th, October 2016, the Civic Society was able to unveil a second Blue Plaque, this one marking the childhood home of one of the greatest novelists of the 20th century, Beryl Bainbridge.

A lot of research and preparation went into this, and once again the main protagonist was Dr. Reg Yorke.

The plaque was fixed at 47 Ravenmeols Lane and we are very grateful to the current property owner, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Steiger for agreeing to allow us to do so. We are also very grateful to Robert Longthorne of the Everyman/Royal Court for joining us and saying a few words to celebrate the work of Beryl Bainbridge.
